Kirsty & Dave, Victoria Baths
This weekend we had the pleasure of providing some of our packages to the lovely Kirsty & Dave, for their quirky, vintage-themed wedding at Victoria Baths in Manchester.
Victoria Baths is a venue like no other - when it opened in 1906, it was described as "the most splendid municipal bathing institution in the country", and it served as a public swimming baths for 87 years. This venue so rich in original period features, such as beautiful stained glass windows and mosaic tiles, is now mostly used for weddings, photoshoots and tv filming (one room was currently being used to film a new BBC period hospital drama - quite a sight!).
Their colour scheme was pale blues, with Kirsty and her bridesmaids wearing beautiful 1950's style tea dresses. (Thanks to Nicola @ Wild & Wondrous Flowers for the photo)
Matching this theme they hung blue bunting from the balconies of the Sports Hall, where they hosted their Reception.
In keeping with the pale blue theme, they hired our patterned suitcase trio. The larger of the two cases were set up to hold cards, whilst the smallest one was perfect for their CD favours.
Our vintage drinks table was used to offer guests a choice of Pimms & Lemonade and Cloudy Lemonade, served in mini milk bottles with striped straws to match the decor.
One of the vintage chalkboard signs which we provided included the order of the day - presented as a setlist, due to the couple's involvement with the Manchester music scene.
Another of our vintage frames was used to hold a special edition poster for their club night Underachievers Please Try Harder, which they had made especially for the wedding.
Beautiful wild blooms in shades of pale blue and yellow were used to decorate throughout, displayed in rustic milk churns and jugs provided by Wild & Wondrous Flowers. Their seating plan was made of a map of the United States, with the tables represented by different places with a special meaning to them.
Fairy lights pegged with photos of the bride and groom told their story, and were a sweet touch which provided a focal point for guests as they entered.
They served a selection of pies for their guests, so our vintage chalkboard sign worked well to display the choices available.
The table centrepieces were made up of personalised records and craft beer bottles - later to be filled with stunning wild flowers.
The cheese wedding cake looked fab and made us very envious!
Overall the venue looked fantastic, a real credit to their hard work and creativity, with just a little of Sid & Olive's help! We'd like to wish this lovely couple (and their gorgeous four-legged friend Jarvis) all the happiness in ther world for their future together :)(thanks @georgiesdoggies for the photo)
